When my mom asked me what I wanted for my birthday, I knew exactly what to say again:
“Mom, I want a puppy.”
Every year I asked this question, and my mother always answered
"No."
But this year, my mother said, "Let me talk to your father."
I screamed and ran upstairs to tell my sister Alex! That night in bed I continued to imagine what my new puppy would be like. I thought about all the great memories we would have together. A week later we drove to the adoption center and picked out an adorable black female puppy with a white stripe down her chest. She had floppy ears and a tail that was constantly wagging. In the car we discussed a name for her and in the end we decided to call her Sasha. She was sitting on my lap shaking furiously. I could hear her heart beating like a drum. When we finally got home we took her out of the car with her leash and electric dog collar to explore her new surroundings. To comfort her I put her in bed with me and we have been together ever since.
